There’s something about homemade jam that makes breakfast feel a little more special and this Raspberry Chia Jam is one of those recipes I keep coming back to because it’s so easy to make and tastes so much better than I expected from such a short ingredient list.

Fresh raspberries are cooked down until juicy and jammy, then brightened up with fresh lime juice and zest. A little maple syrup adds just enough sweetness, while chia seeds naturally help thicken the mixture and add a boost of fiber.

No complicated canning process. No pectin. No refined white sugar.

Just raspberries + a few pantry staples = the easiest homemade jam.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Easy: You only need a handful of ingredients.
  • High in fiber: Raspberries and chia seeds both contribute fiber.
  • No pectin needed: Chia seeds help create that thick, spreadable texture.
  • Bright and flavorful: Fresh lime gives the raspberries a delicious little zing.
  • Naturally sweetened: Maple syrup replaces traditional refined sugar.
  • So versatile: Use it on toast, oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, waffles, or even as a filling for baked goods.

What you’ll need for this recipe:

  • Fresh raspberries: The raspberries are the star of the show. They become soft and juicy as they cook and create that gorgeous ruby red color.
  • Maple Syrup: You don’t need much. The goal is to enhance the natural sweetness of the berries rather than make the jam overly sweet.
  • Lime juice + lime zest: This is my favorite little addition. The lime cuts through the sweetness and gives the jam a fresh, bright flavor.
  • Chia seeds: Here’s where the magic happens. Chia seeds absorb liquid and help thicken the raspberry mixture into a jam-like consistency. They also add fiber and healthy fats.
