Hi I’m Lina!

I’m the cook, recipe developer, and wellness enthusiast behind Lina Cooks Clean.

I was born and raised in Colombia, where food is more than just nourishment — it’s a love language. Some of my favorite memories are from my childhood, spent in the kitchen with my grandmothers. Both of my abuelas loved cooking from scratch, turning simple ingredients into dishes that brought everyone together.

That’s where my love for food really began — watching them cook with so much love and intention. There’s something special about making a great meal and watching people enjoy it. It’s a kind of joy and connection that never fades.

Cooking has always been my creative outlet and my way to express care, creativity, and love.

After graduating college, I became certified as a holistic health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and ran a healthy food blog for several years. In 2020, I transitioned into the corporate world, where I still work today — but my passion for cooking and sharing wholesome recipes never faded. I know firsthand how busy life can get and how challenging it can be to cook at home after a long day.

That’s why I created Lina Cooks Clean — a space to share easy, wholesome recipes made with minimally processed ingredients that anyone can enjoy.

Here, you’ll find recipes that are easy, nourishing, and perfect for busy people who want to eat well without overcomplicating things. My goal is to show that cooking at home doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming — it can be simple, satisfying, and even a small act of self-care.

I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s eat well, take care of ourselves, and have a little fun along the way.

Cooking at home doesn’t have to be complicated or dull. I’m here to share simple, delicious recipes that make homemade meals something to look forward to.

FAQ

I focus on real, wholesome, mostly sugar-free and high protein recipes that are simple, nourishing, and full of flavor. You’ll find everything from clean comfort food to high-protein smoothies, dairy-free sauces, and easy weeknight meals.

I go to different places—Trader Joe’s, Amazon Fresh, Aldi, and a local butcher shop—for animal protein.

Not all! While many of my recipes are plant-based, some include high-quality animal proteins like pastured eggs, organic chicken, or wild-caught fish. I believe in a flexible, whole-food approach to eating.

Yes! Every recipe includes a printable card at the bottom of the blog post so you can easily save it or bring it into your kitchen.

Yes, a large portion of my recipes are naturally gluten-free and dairy-free (or have easy swaps). I always try to include substitutions when possible to accommodate different dietary needs.

Yes! I love partnering with brands that align with my values and focus on real food, wellness, and sustainability. If you’re a brand interested in collaborating, please visit my Work With Me page.

Not at all! I prioritize simple, accessible ingredients you can find at most grocery stores or farmers markets. When I use specialty items (like hemp seeds or collagen), I’ll explain why and suggest alternatives if possible.

No worries! I try to offer alternative cooking methods or tools whenever possible. For example, if a recipe calls for an air fryer, I’ll usually include oven instructions too. Don’t hesitate to leave a comment on the post or send me a message if you need help adapting a recipe—I’m happy to help!
